About the SAiNTs

SAINTs is a Non Profit Group of Volunteers, lead by two people, assisting Animal Welfare Groups (focussing on dogs and cats) in Gauteng to raise funds that enable them to carry on. (Although our "mail order" offerings are open to AW's countrywide).

We NEVER ask for cash donations, we hold book sales twice a month, have one or other project selling something at any one time (eg t-shirts, diaries, picture frames etc.) and host FUN events to raise the funds.

SAINTs is NOT an animal shelter, we don't have a driver or offices. We don't have a list of animals needing homes, but can try refer you if you are looking for a pet. We usually suggest you look on www.barkingmad.co.za which has a comprehensive list of animal shelters. We unfortunately can't find homes for your unwanted pets or take in pets you find or find the owners of lost pets for you.

We can't sterilise your animals for free, adopting from a welfare organisation will of course mean that the steri is included in the adoption fee. If you are however in a need of sterilising a stray cat etc. we can refer you to a reasonable welfare-orientated vet (it won't be free) or you can contact your local SPCA to find out if they have a lower cost scheme. We also don't deal with feral cats ourselves but can refer you to organisations that do.

SAINTs is also NOT an animal rights organisation, although we will support certain causes that fall within our own opinions and viewpoints, this would be in our personal capacity most of the time.
